In March 2026, I will be trekking 100k trek along the “Camino Frances” route of the famous Camino de Santiago ….in only 5 days! I will be joined by 25 other hardy souls to make the pilgrimage from Sarria to Santiago to raise much needed funds for Scottish based children’s mental health charity, The Polar Academy.

The charity provides a life altering physical and mental training programme for each participating child culminating in a winter expedition in the Arctic. The training and ultimate physical challenge in the depths of either Arctic Greenland or Finland has a transformative effect on each child, their school and their families. By working with “invisible” kids who struggle with confidence and self esteem or the ability to socialise or simply fit in - through perhaps anxiety or depression, trauma, bereavement or bullying - they are transformed into inspirational young role models endowed with respect, dignity, self belief, connections and kindness.
