Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the London Marathon for Great Ormond Street hospital, a hospital that transported our son Max to pediatric ICU in February. Great Ormond (and University College Hospital and Royal Brompton and the NHS generally) saved our Max’s life. Max now receives treatment at Great Ormond for his heart and eyes. Luckily, Max’s heart condition is one that will probably lessen in severity within a year and he will hopefully only require intermittent check ups thereafter (solely due to the unique construction of his heart) but lots of kids are not so lucky. Great Ormond is an amazing facility that treats thousands of children each year for various conditions and provides support for those children and their families during their worst moments.
This years marathon also aligns with two personal milestones. It will be my first marathon after turning forty (four days before the marathon) and my fourth Abbott World Marathon Major.
