Giving up coffee and alcohol in March
We have to set up a new charity fund for the children's rehabilitation service allow us to help and support these children.

Story

Charlotte, my daughter, was diagnosed with Chronic Pain Syndrome in July 2021 and Hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome in July 2022. As a result of the pain, she has missed a lot of school and it has impacted daily life. We are fortunate that she is seen by the Children's Rehabilitation Service in Oxford, a team consisting of a Pediatrician, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists and a Therapy Assistant.

Charlotte recently received 2 weeks of intensive rehabilitation at Douglas House in Oxford, where the clinic is based. This consisted of daily physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychology and schooling. She also had hydrotherapy, relaxation classes and even karate lessons.

The team have also met with Charlotte's school to formulate a plan moving forward and the hope is that she will be back at school full-time by the end of this academic year.

I can not praise the team enough. They go above and beyond and it is evident the impact this service has on young people in pain is invaluable. As it is NHS funded, obviously resources are stretched. Having spoken to the team, they would really appreciate some activities to do with children during sessions. I'm raising money for them to purchase art and craft activities, games and anything else they feel of benefit. I will be giving up coffee AND alcohol for the whole of March. If you would like to sponsor me and are able to give a little, I would be extremely grateful, as I know the team would be.
