Story
The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre has a specialist comprehensive children's rehabilitation service. This comprises of:
- Paediatric pain management (children with ongoing pain affecting many aspects of their life)
- Orthopaedic rehabilitation (children who have had various surgical interventions i.e scoliosis repair.
These conditions can have devastating effects on the child and the wider family's life. Our team of specialists see children who have suffered brain injuries, children with orthopaedic conditions (to do with muscles and bones), children who have had spinal surgery and children with chronic pain. Children may find it difficult to go to school and carry out their normal activities, or in some cases, even walking becomes very difficult.
We have set up a new charity fund for the children's rehabilitation service to allow us to help and support these children.
Your donations and sponsorship will be used solely in the department for a variety of things such as new furniture for the waiting room, books and toys to keep the children busy between appointments, and support the extra activities not funded by the NHS.
Donating to us will be helping improve the lives of the children we help.
