Story
It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case.
Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. Help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.
Our wonderful Grandad had previously fought 2 separate cancers in his life time so when he was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer he really couldn't face the idea of going through chemo again. Unfortunately the decision was taken away from him anyway and he couldn't understand why it wouldn't have worked this time. He was given the 3 month prognosis but was in hospital within weeks of his diagnosis and then into a care home. He died peacefully having spent his last few days living under the same roof as he wife, which he hadn't done for years. He didn't make 2 months after his diagnosis! By the time we knew it was too late and he was too ill for us to be able to organise anything. He would have loved to go on holiday one last time but it just wasn't feasible.
We hope the money we raise can help find a way to fight this cancer so other families don't have to go through this.
