Story

Palestinian National cycling champion Alaa Al Dali was shot my IDF soldiers in 2018, leading to the end of his professional cycling career. That never stopped him from chasing his dream of representing Palestine on the world stage. He set off with the hopes of starting the Gaza Sunbirds, A Para-cycling team in the Gaza Strip. My journey with him be incredible team began in 2019 when I became a proud co-founder of this project. Since then, we have embarked on a challenging three-year adventure, navigating through war, camaradership, deportations, and much more. Despite the harsh environment, I have had the privilege of witnessing the birth of the Sunbirds team and our gradual rise to becoming a formidable force.

Working in Gaza comes with its difficulties, but we have made significant strides in our organizational capacity over the past year. We have already welcomed over 8 talented athletes into our programs, established a strong network of dedicated staff and volunteers, initiated regular training sessions, enhanced our technological capabilities on the ground, and witnessed remarkable improvements in our riders' capacities.

To continue our mission of representing Palestine on the world stage and furthering the development our training programs, we need your support! We're teaming up with AMOS Trust and The Big Ride For Palestine to fundraise money for our team. Together, we can ride towards freedom!
