A Bunch of Tits! 💗

In October 2024, I heard the words no one ever wants to hear: “It’s breast cancer.” In that moment, everything changed — not just for me, but for my husband Dean, my best friend Zoe, and for everyone who loves me.

The year that followed was brutal: 76 hospital visits, 9 scans, 3 biopsies, 2 operations, 4 emergencies (including one ambulance ride), 5 months of chemotherapy, and 20 sessions of radiotherapy. Cancer treatment is exhausting, relentless, and utterly terrifying. People told me I was strong — but I felt the weakest I've ever felt. They said I was brave — but it didn’t feel like that.

Cancer didn’t feel like a battle; it felt like an endurance challenge. But with all my amazing friends and family at my side, I kept going — one day, one appointment, one small victory at a time.

UPDATE – My Great North Run has been deferred to 2027 💗

My recovery from breast cancer has been harder than I expected, and sadly I’m not well enough to run the Great North Run in 2026.

I've officially deferred my place to 2027, so this isn't the end of my challenge — just a change of date. Zoe and Dean are still running this Sunday and I'll be cheering them on every step of the way.
