Hi, I’m Katie, and I’m a Scout with Hillside Scout Group, nestled in the foothills of the North Yorkshire Moors.

In August 2026, I have the amazing opportunity to attend Poacher – an international Scout Jamboree that brings together over 5,000 Scouts and Guides from around the world. It’s a week full of adventure, exciting challenges, and the chance to make lifelong friends.

I’m really excited to go – but I need your help to get there!

Poacher is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but it comes with a big cost. That’s why, throughout 2025, we’re working hard to raise money so that every Scout in our group has the chance to go, no matter their circumstances.

🎒 The Challenge

To help raise funds, we’re taking on a sponsored walk:

🏔️ We’ll start at Captain Cook’s Monument and hike 14 miles along the Cleveland Way, finishing the day at Pybus Scout Campsite, where we’ll set up camp and recover by the fire.

⏳ The next morning, we’ll lace up our boots again to complete the final 7 miles, ending at the beautiful Cod Beck Reservoir.

It’s not going to be easy, but we’re ready for the challenge – and we’d love your support!

💡 Why Are We Doing This?

Poacher only happens once every four years. It’s a truly special event where Scouts take part in amazing activities, meet people from all over the world, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

But getting there is expensive. That’s why we’re fundraising all year to make sure everyone in our group gets to go – no one left behind.
