Story
In April 2024, our lives changed when Amelie was diagnosed with Epilepsy, but we wasn’t going to let it change hers. Not only is this a life changing but potentially life threatening condition.
With her new found ‘superpower’ I started to educate myself about epilepsy and its definitely not a 'one size fits all' condition. This isn’t just about raising funds to support others like Amelie but to educate people, raise awareness and remove the stigma that can be associated with epilepsy.
Further to this, my bestie Sarah was diagnosed with epilepsy just over a year ago so I know how this can impact people at different stages of their lives. Sarah is taking up the challenge, along with our other bestie Steph, and joining me on this half marathon.
This is the first time we have run a half marathon but the three of us together will push through, have fun and make difference for young people, like Amelie, and their family’s 💜

From Sarah-
I will be running the London Landmark Half Marathon in support of my best friend’s daughter Amelie.
Both Amelie and I have been diagnosed with epilepsy in the past year and it has had a huge affect on our day to day lives.
There is still a lot of stigma associated with epilepsy and a widespread misunderstanding about the condition. This can lead to young children and adults to have low self-esteem and not wanting to take part in activities.
As much as this has been a scary diagnosis for myself, I can only imagine this to be incredibly more difficult for young children and for Amelie.
Amelie shows great courage in her fight against young epilepsy, but it is up to us to fight the good fight and raise awareness for Young Epilepsy.
Every step we take will help support all our children with epilepsy and help let them live their best lives. This run also helps me face my fears with the condition.

We fight together #TEAM PURPLE
