I’m running the Hackney Half! 🏃

I’m taking on this challenge to raise money for the Literacy Pirates, a wonderful Hackney based charity supporting children’s literacy, empowering children facing socio-economic barriers to catch up in the classroom.

Reading really is my first love and has been a constant source of support, comfort, and joy throughout my entire life.

I am proud to volunteer for Literacy Pirates, and to have seen first hand how the programme transforms lives by helping children develop not only their reading and literacy skills, but also their confidence, and perseverance.

A team of Literacy Pirates volunteers are taking on the Hackney Half marathon 2026 to raise money to support over 400 children to reinvent themselves as successful learners. Every mile run supports the development of reading, writing, and confidence for children who face extra challenges in their learning.
