Katherine Stewart is raising money for Autistic Children and Carers Together

Please help support autistic young people and their families in Sheffield by joining Team ACCT and taking on the challenge of the Sheffield 10k!

Story

ACCT is a local Sheffield charity which is very close to our hearts. Our son has been attending clubs just about every week for almost 10 years now and he really values being able to meet up with like minded people and feel that he belongs. Over the years we've joined in with many different activities through ACCT and received support and friendship which we have really valued. I'd like to raise money for ACCT to help keep their activities running as I know there are many families in Sheffield like ours who really value everything they do.

Autistic Children and Carers Together (ACCT) was established in 2006 by a group of parent-carers of autistic children, responding to the lack of activity groups accessible to autistic young people.

Nearly 20 years on, ACCT has continued to organise a wide range of fun and accessible activities each week for autistic young people who cannot access mainstream clubs, along with parent-carer support and activities for the whole family, including:

- Acctivate Children's Club and Teenage Club multi-activity sessions

- ACCT Academy autism-friendly football coaching

- ACCT Gaming Clubs including Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop games.

- InterACCT teenage drama group

- ACCTing Out young adults social group

- Parent-carer support meetings

- Autism-friendly family swimming and other family trips.

With more than 600 people accessing ACCT services each year, your donation really helps to make a positive impact on the lives of autistic young people and their families in Sheffield.
