Story
Autistic Children and Carers Together (ACCT) was established in 2006 by a group of parent-carers of autistic children, responding to the lack of activity groups accessible to autistic young people.
Nearly 20 years on, ACCT has continued to organise a wide range of fun and accessible activities each week for autistic young people who cannot access mainstream clubs, along with parent-carer support and activities for the whole family.
Your donation will directly help autistic young people and their families in Sheffield by helping us to offer:
- Acctivate Children's Club and Teenage Club multi-activity sessions
- ACCT Academy autism-friendly football coaching
- ACCT Gaming Clubs including Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop games.
- InterACCT teenage drama group
- ACCTing Out young adults social group
- Parent-carer support meetings
- Autism-friendly family swimming and other family trips.
With more than 600 people accessing ACCT services each year, your donation really helps make a positive difference to the lives of autistic young people and their families. Thank you!
My son doesn’t feel different if he attends an ACCT event; he feels normal. That’s important for him and for us.
