Story

Empowering Young Women: A Life-Changing Adventure to Kenya

“An adventure that empowers communities and inspires future leaders."

In 2025, we’re leading a group of young women aged 14–17 from Girlguiding South East London, North East London, and West Kent on an unforgettable overland journey to Kenya. This experience will challenge them to develop resilience, teamwork, and independence as they:

• Travel overland through breathtaking landscapes

• Camp under the stars and cook their own meals

• Immerse themselves in Kenyan culture while creating a lasting impact.

Our Mission

We’ll be installing solar energy systems in rural Kenyan homes, helping families access clean, sustainable energy. This initiative not only addresses urgent energy needs but also equips communities with tools for a brighter future.

Your support can help us achieve this dual mission:

• Empowering the girls: Developing leadership skills, confidence, and self-sufficiency.

• Supporting Kenyan communities: Providing life-changing sustainable energy solutions.

Why We Need Your Help

As volunteers, we are responsible for raising the funds to bring this adventure to life. Your donation will directly support:

• Travel costs.

• Accommodation and food.

• Solar system materials for the project.

How Your Support Makes an Impact

Your contribution ensures these young women gain life-changing experiences while creating meaningful change for families in rural Kenya. 90% of Africans do not have access to electricity. Together, we can inspire future leaders and build sustainable communities.
