We tragically lost our dear friend and colleague Dr Eslam Al-Abadi to cancer on 5th May 2025.

Eslam was a Consultant in Paediatric Rheumatology at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He was a gentle man, gifted clinician and true advocate for his patients and our specialty. He is missed enormously by patients and colleagues alike. He leaves behind his wife, 2 children and his parents.

Eslam was passionate about the plight of the people of Gaza, and indeed when he was still with us asked us to donate money to this cause. We feel it is a fitting tribute to do so again in his memory.
