I’m running the 10k at the 2026 Edinburgh Marathon Festival in loving memory of Kerry Cairns, my mother-in-law, who was sadly taken from last year.

Now for the honest part: I have never run a race in my life, But for Kerry and for the chance to help fund new cancer cures around the world, this felt like a challenge worth taking on (even if it does involve a lot of wheezing and questionable training decisions).

Cancer affects far too many families, and this run is about doing something positive in memory of someone who meant so much to us. Together, we can help drive research forward so that one day no life is cut short by cancer.
