Bill and Joe Stringer 's fundraiser for Alcohol Change UK

Bill Stringer is raising money for Alcohol Change UK
In memory of Amy Banner nee Stringer

King Alfred Way 315 km Gravel Cycle ride · 7 April 2026

Our wonderful supporters are taking on a variety of challenge fundraising activities in 2026 from skydives to running events for Alcohol Change UK.

Story

In February 2024, our beautiful, funny and loving sister Amy very sadly died after many years of battling alcoholism. It is really clear that attitudes to alcohol in the UK are messed up, and awareness about alcohol and its impact is still low.

Alcohol Change UK is a charity fighting for change, best known for its Dry January campaign. This trip will see my brother, Joe, and me cycling the King Alfred’s Way, a 315km circular gravel bike packing route, starting and ending in Winchester. This isn’t just about raising awareness about alcohol, but also about connecting with loved ones and treasuring the time we have on this planet. Whilst not the biggest challenge, it is a perfect excuse to raise some money for this brilliant charity's work.

If you’re able to support or share, we’d really appreciate it. Thank you.
