Story

I've set up a JustGiving Page, at the request of my sister, Terri and my brother in law Tony Branagan, to raise funds for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, in memory of their son Lorcán Branagan, who was an immensely talented young Clonduff Senior Footballer & Hurler. Lorcán died tragically in Sydney, Australia in March 2024 and the entire family is devastated by this. Our loss of Lorcán is immeasurable, the pain is indescribable, and we know he is simply irreplaceable. The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust has helped the family navigate the intricacies of returning him back to the County Down and we'd like you to help support the amazing work they do, at this exceptionally difficult time.

Lorcan's sister Caitlín posted a beautiful tribute to him on her Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/100004284974529/posts/pfbid02RfS85VCvyAQBmDUvQg2kThmZmLzqcHwppeNkr1wCeAneUtaXk5pVwwReYCCdNjnyl/ & this excerpt illustrates Lorcan's vibrancy and zest for life.

"It’s difficult to put into words how simply amazing Lorcán was. I truly admired him throughout my life - particularly his sense of drive, hard work and ability to light up a room with his infectious smile and laugh. Oh what I would give to hear it just one more time. It breaks my heart how you were taken in such tragic circumstances and my heart goes out to his girlfriend Shona and all our cousins who are currently out in Australia. Your strength is commendable

Lorcán truly lived his life to the fullest. Losing our brother Peárce in 2018 was a difficult time for our entire famiy circle - but especially for our Lorcán. Him and Peárce were inseparable. They had a bond that was like no other and a love for one another that was indescribable. Lorcán showed incredible strength during this time and the way he composed himself throughout was truly admirable to all. Our family feels a sense of comfort to know you are both united again💛

Lorcán was someone who you could easily admire. He was an amazing individual who had a big heart and was always there to lend a helping hand to a friend. Lorcán as many know was a phenomenal athlete who will be sorely missed by Clonduff. His devotion to Hurly and Football was tremendous - he wowed everyone by his sheer skill and dedication to his fitness. He was a player that all coaches dream of having on their team."

If you can help by donating to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, however small or big, it is massively appreciated by our family and by this wonderful charity. It’s the number none of us ever thought we’d have to ring, but we are so grateful for their help at this traumatic time for our family.
