Story
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on our children nationwide, with Black and Hispanic children being particularly affected and falling significantly behind their White and Asian peers. Here are some alarming facts to consider:
• According to the Nation's Report Card scores, the pandemic has wiped out two decades of progress
• ACT scores suggest that the US is now 30 years behind, indicating that high school graduates are not adequately prepared for college courses
• Research indicates that it will take a focused effort for at least 15 years to address the systemic failures, including mentoring relationships, tutoring supports, mental health supports, and more.
