Story

Please help me raise vital funds for St Cuthbert’s Hospice in memory of my mam Rita Mason.

This will be my 3rd year running for the Hospice in the Durham City run.

I’ve already raised a fantastic amount by completing the run over the last 2 yrs (£600 alone in 2025) but I’d love to raise even more to help them continue to fund their fantastic palliative care service.

Sadly the Hospice has had to reduce its services over the past year due to cuts in funding. Thankfully they have managed to maintain the provision of their in patient service for palliative care.

The level of care and compassion we experienced from the Hospice when they cared for my mam was exceptional.

Every little helps!

St Cuthbert's… it all started with the local community...

Over three decades ago, a group of Durham residents came together for a common cause. They saw the absence of care and support available for those coming to the end of their lives and decided to take action. Thanks to their many years of fundraising and dedication, St Cuthbert's Hospice first opened its doors in 1988 to provide services, free of charge, for those living with life-limiting illnesses, people approaching the end of their lives and families who are bereaved.

We receive some government funding towards our care, but rely on donations, legacies, charity shops, charitable trusts and people playing our Lottery or coming to our events to meet the cost of providing our exceptional care and support. We must raise over £2 million each year.
