Story
Hello kind people,
Inspired by a poster she had seen at a recent hospital visit, my Jones asked me to sign her up to take part in the Rainbow Run 2025.
As a wise yet athletically challenged parent, I realised pretty quickly that this would mean ME doing actual real life training with her, and so, trying my best to seem supportive and encouraging, I took a picture of the poster to look at 'later' and fingers crossed that this idea would soon be forgotten about and we could all just move on with life. The End.
I had clearly underestimated the determination of my child to do this crazy thing, because annoyingly she proceeded to repeatedly ask me if I had signed her up to it yet!
Why? I kept asking.
Because I want to, she replied.
But it means you have to run and everything Jones! There's training. And running! Says me, confidently kicking it into the long grass.
And then, something weird happened. Sophie randomly called me the next day to see if my girls were interested in training for a 5K with her. She wanted some company apparently!
Personally, im not quite getting the running thing - but who am I to get in the way of fate, particularly when it doesn't involve me putting on a pair of trainers. Despite hoping this idea was nothing but a fleeting whim, these 3 girls have been training 3 times a week for this thing, so apparently it's actually happening!
I am incredibly proud of these guys, particularly Joni who despite having her own difficulties, is determined to push herself to do this.
