Kev's fundraiser for The National Brain Appeal

Kev Cannings is raising money for The National Brain Appeal

Riding the Rhine: Source to Sea for The National Brain Appeal · 21 June 2026

There are 14.7million people – that’s more than one in six – in the UK living with a neurological condition. Here at the country's leading neurological centre, we’re passionate about supporting the hospital to help improve the lives of patients through treatment and research.

Story

In June and July 2026, I will be cycling EuroVelo 15, following the River Rhine from its source in the Swiss Alps all the way to the North Sea.

I am raising money for The National Brain Appeal. Neurological conditions have affected people close to me, and I have seen first-hand the difference that specialist hospitals and their staff can make during difficult times.

The National Brain Appeal raises funds for Queen Square, one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of people with neurological and neuromuscular conditions. These include epilepsy, brain cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and stroke.

Through its support of The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, the charity helps fund research, equipment, innovation and improvements to patient care.

This ride is my way of giving something back. Every donation, no matter how small, will help support patients and families facing neurological conditions.

Thank you for your support.
