Forever Susan
Campaign by The University of Edinburgh (RCN SC004307)
The Forever Susan Fund supports research into multiple sclerosis (MS), at the University of Edinburgh, with the aim to improve and extend the quality of life for people living with MS.

Story

The Forever Susan Fund aims to improve and extend the quality of life for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) through research. Northern Ireland has the second highest rate of MS cases in the UK, with at least 5,000 people battling the condition.

It is named after Susan Ash, much loved Mum, Sister, Nanna and Aunt, who passed away on 21 January 2024 having battled MS for over 40 years.

Susan had Relapsing Remitting MS, which later developed into Secondary Progressive MS. Witnessing her painful and traumatic decline over the decades, with little hope of a cure or medication that could halt her condition during her lifetime, was heartbreaking for all of her family (some of whom live in Northern Ireland).

Donations to the Fund will support researchers working in the field of multiple sclerosis research at the University of Edinburgh. This research will help MS sufferers across the UK, including in Northern Ireland.

As part of our fundraising efforts, the NI branch of her family is holding a charity concert at the Deer's Head in Belfast on Friday, October 3. Tickets are available from https://buytickets.at/kevanfurbank/1712950

This page is for those who are unable or do not wish to attend the concert but would still like to support this cause.

I thank you in advance for donating to my JustGiving page today.
