Story
My lovely Mum, at the age of 91, has always been independent, with a desire to live in her own home. However, it became increasingly clear last year that she could no longer care for herself. My sister and brother-in-law decided to take her into their home. This was incredibly challenging for them, as they had to deal with the complexities of caregiving while balancing their own lives.
As we work through the process of selling her house to fund her care, I am pleased that we have found a wonderful local care home with a dedicated Dementia ward. Dementia is a devastating disease that affects not only those diagnosed but also their families and friends.
I want to take action and raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society, an organisation committed to creating a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. On 28th September 2025, I will be participating in the Vitality London 10,000 marathon to support this vital cause.
My goal is to raise £2,500 to help fund research and support services for those affected by dementia.
I invite you to join me in this mission. Your generous contributions can make a significant difference in the fight against dementia and provide hope for countless families facing this challenge.
