22 April 2023 - 4 years ago I started off down the route that would change my life forever... I started having tests to diagnose what would eventually turn out to be Advanced Prostate Cancer - 2019 was a whirlwind of Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy along with the associated baldness, tiredness, weird tongue sensations and no sleep on steroid days!!

I will never be cancer free but it has so far been held at bay, although there are indications that it may be becoming active again as indicated by slightly increased PSA counts but MacMillan Nurses are dealing with that in their usual efficient manner.

Originally TeamKikAss was set up as a vehicle for myself and my great friend Esther Meek to raise funds for MacMillan, however Esther passed away in Nov 22 due to breast cancer.

My niece has joined the relaunched team and together we are the magnificent "Teamkikass - The Sequel"

We are now both signed up to the massive challenge that is, the Northumberland Coast MacMillan Cancer Support Mighty Hike 2023 Half Marathon - this is around 13 miles from Alnwick Castle to Craster. We were hoping to do the full marathon, however this has proved impossible due to various health issues.
