Story

In 2019, my life changed when I was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

Since then, I’ve learned to live with uncertainty, with hospital appointments and scans, with treatment cycles and side-effects, and with the knowledge that there is currently no cure for what I’m facing. But I’ve also learned that I’m still here, building resilience and moving forward.

Over the past 6 years I have am embarked on many challenges to help raise funds, not only for my own treatments but for charities that help speed up the need for a cure.

This year, I’m taking on the London Marathon to raise vital funds for The National Brain Appeal, a charity supporting world-leading research, innovative treatments, and life-changing care at The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.

Living with an incurable disease reshapes everything — your plans, your priorities, your perspective. But it also shows you what truly matters. I challenge myself because:

I want to support the brilliant clinicians and researchers who work tirelessly for people like me.

I want to help drive the breakthroughs that could transform the future for everyone affected by neurological conditions.

I want to prove to myself — and maybe to others — that even in the face of something incurable, hope, strength and determination still have a place.
