Team: Escone Solutions team fundraising for A Bear Named Buttony

Aberdeen Kiltwalk 2026 · 7 June 2026 ·

A Bear Named Buttony is a Scottish Charity providing support throughout the UK to children and young people who have a stoma. We donate Buttony, a cuddly friend, who has a stoma to children through a network of paediatric stoma nurses and direct through our FaceBook page. For Young Adults with a stoma we donate a wash bag full of non medical items to help them adapt to life with a stoma. Thanks so much for considering supporting our work. Together we can raise awareness and banish the 'poo' taboo!

Story

This year, Escone Solutions are again lacing up the boots, trainers and brogues for the Aberdeen Kiltwalk to give something back to local charities that are doing incredible work. Our chosen charity is A Bear Named Buttony, and it’s one that’s very close to our hearts.

A Bear Named Buttony provides specially designed Teddy Bears to children going through bowel or bladder surgery. Each bear has a small “button” to represent a stoma—something that might sound simple but makes a massive difference. These bears bring comfort, ease anxiety, and help children feel that what they’re going through is okay… and that they’re not alone.

It’s hard enough for anyone to face surgery, never mind a young child trying to understand it all. If a wee bear can take even a bit of that fear away, then that’s something worth getting behind.

So, I’ll be out pounding the track from Banchory to Aberdeen, 18 miles if I don’t get lost, in a kilt , doing my bit with the rest of Team Escone. If you’re able to support us with a donation, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world.

Thanks again for the support.
