I am taking part in The 2026 Robin Hood Half Marathon on 27th September, on behalf of The John van Geest Cancer Research Centre (JvGCRC).

Like many, Cancer has sadly touched the lives of several important people in my life and as a student at NTU, I see firsthand the incredible passion of our researchers.

Science changes lives, but it needs our support, that's why I am running my very first half marathon (13.1 miles/21.1km) - to back the brilliant minds at our university who are working every day to help beat cancer.

Based at Nottingham Trent University, JvGCRC specialise in research into blood cancers as well as colorectal, pancreatic and brain tumours.

Your kind donations help to find ways to:

- Diagnose cancer better

- Predict how it will respond to treatment

- Develop ways of boosting the immune system to fight it

The presence of cancer in our lives might remain inevitable — but the scale and devastation of its impact need not be. Your donations will help to continue this life-changing work.
