On Saturday 7th June, I'm joining a team of colleagues and friends from Accessible Arts & Media (AAM) to take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

We'll walk 24 miles and scale Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) - all in under 12 hours. Oh, and in true AAM style, we'll be singing a song at the top of each peak!

Why are we doing the challenge this summer?

Our inspirational co-founder Rose Kent retired from AAM in April this year, after 35 years as Creative Director. She wanted to do something to celebrate AAM and raise funds for the charity she's loved leading. As friends, family and colleagues, we were only too happy to join her!

I've been involved with AAM in one way or another for over 20 years now. If you've landed on this page, the chances are you're one of my friends and family. I know a lot of you know how good it feels to share music with friends - whether that's playing in a band, singing in a choir, gie-in' it laldy on the dance floor, going to a gig or belting out tunes round the campfire or the kitchen table.

AAM helps hundreds of people who wouldn't otherwise get the chance to experience that buzz every year.

With your support, adults and young people with learning disabilities will write, record and perform their own music; create their own dance routines; and let their imaginations run wild with fabulous sensory stories.

And people with enduring mental ill-health will benefit from 1:1 creative and sensory relaxation sessions.

The money you donate will help make sure AAM can keep supporting people to feel happy, connected, creative and valued. And that's pretty AAM-azing!
