Help Save LCDP Community Services

Jolene Allen is raising money for LCDP - Llanharan Drop In Centre
Llanharan Community Development Project (LCDP) is a long-established local charity supporting people across Llanharan, Brynna, Bryncae and surrounding communities. For nearly 30 years, we have been at the heart of our community, providing trusted, accessible and inclusive services for children, young people, families and adults. We run a wide range of community-led services including affordable childcare and play provision, youth activities, wellbeing and peer support groups, community cafés, skills sessions, and environmental projects such as our Eco-Hub and community gardens. Our work tackles loneliness, supports mental health and wellbeing, helps families through the cost-of-living crisis, and creates safe spaces where people feel welcome, valued and supported. As our community continues to grow rapidly, so does local need. LCDP acts as a trusted first point of contact, connecting people to support, opportunities and each other. We work closely with volunteers, local schools, health partners and third-sector organisations to ensure our services respond directly to what the community needs. Every pound raised stays local and makes a real, visible difference — supporting people you may know, on streets you recognise, in the community we all share. By supporting LCDP, you are helping to build a stronger, healthier and more connected community for everyone.

Story

For nearly 30 years, Llanharan Community Development Project (LCDP) has been supporting people in our community through childcare, youth activities, wellbeing groups and safe spaces where everyone is welcome.

Over the last 3 years, funding allowed us to employ a Community Development Coordinator and provide a wide range of adult services including:

• Warm Space sessions

• Craft & Cuppa

• Happy Dayz wellbeing group

• Dementia friendly activities

• Eco Hub outdoor wellbeing sessions

• Social groups reducing loneliness

• Advice signposting for money, housing and benefits

• Free play activities for children and young people

• Support for families and carers

Our doors have always been open. The kettle is always on, and there is always someone ready to listen.

Many people rely on these groups to:

🧑‍🤝‍🧑feel less isolated

🍵build friendships

😍improve confidence

💚access support

🤲🏼feel part of their community

Unfortunately, recent funding has now come to an end.

Like many charities across Rhondda Cynon Taf, we are applying for new funding, but demand is extremely high and funding opportunities are limited.

Without funding, these vital community services are at risk of stopping imminently.

We never want anyone in our community to feel alone or without support.

We are asking our community, and those who believe in the importance of local support services, to help us keep these groups running while we continue applying for long-term funding.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help us continue providing welcoming spaces where people feel supported and connected.

💰£3 will cover the cost of a one person per a session

🏠£15 will cover 1 hour of hall hire

If you are unable to donate, sharing this page helps more people see the difference these services make.

Together, we can protect the support that so many people rely on.

Thank you for being part of our community 💚💚💚💚💚💚
