I would like to raise money for Cancer Research UK & Treorchy Male Choir who every year raise Tens of thousands of pounds for other charities through their concert performances. The driving force behind me doing this is my much loved and missed Father,
Thomas John Phillips, who was born on 28 Jan 1940 and worked as a miner in the Fernhill and Tower Colliery, until he retired in 1990. His Father died of Lung Cancer when he was 58 and my Father contracted Liver Cancer in 2013. Surgery gave him a further 2 years of good health, until the Cancer returned and he sadly passed away on 13 May 2018 at the age of 78.
To honour my Father and all Cancer sufferers throughout the UK, I will do a Parachute Jump in Feb 24 to raise funds in his memory and help Treorchy Male Choir with the cost of their new Defibrillator and the Training of 18 Choristers in its use and Basic life support and to help with their costs in continuing to do the great work they do every year in raising tens of thousands of pounds for those in need.
