Leigh's fundraiser for Rockinghorse Children's Charity

Brighton Half Marathon 2025 · 2 March 2025 ·
Earlier this year, I made a bold decision to take on the challenge of the Brighton Half Marathon in March 2025. Inspired by the incredible runners at the London Marathon, I felt it was time to push myself further. Despite having only run 10K races a few times, I embarked on a training plan to prepare for this new endeavor. Alongside my personal goal, I also saw an opportunity to make a difference by raising funds for Rockinghorse Children's Charity. A dear friend of mine has experienced firsthand the invaluable support provided by this charity when his twins were born prematurely. As we approach the festive season and acknowledge the financial strains many face, any contribution towards my fundraising target would mean the world to me and serve as tremendous motivation during these chilly winter months of training.
I am fundraising for Rockinghorse Children's Charity, a Brighton-based organization that offers vital assistance to sick and disabled children across Sussex. Their unwavering support extends to babies, children, and young people, as well as their families at The Royal Alex Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton, along with various specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex. Since 1967, they have positively impacted nearly a million children through provision of life-saving medical equipment, family support, nurturing environments, and additional staff.
