On Saturday 1st August I will be joining a group of intrepid trekkers scaling Snowdon at night to raise funds for the Mare and Foal Sanctuary. The Mare and Foal Sanctuary sent Zahra to live with us when we desperately needed a companion for my old horse who had just lost her friend. They rescue horses and ponies that have been abandoned, neglected or abused. They also ensure that horses and ponies have a sanctuary for life. Most horses and ponies are given care for life through their network of knowledgeable carers. Those horses and ponies with more complex needs are cared for in their peaceful sanctuaries. Zahra has been with us for nearly 5 years, and fits perfectly with our little herd.
