Update 17/05/24

Good evening from Angel...and heres the latest...

We now have a referral to see a specialist vet on 5th June. They have quoted £4000 to £6000 if they think her leg is operable, going on the images from our vets.

Its £330 consultation fee and then we need further imaging from them before a decision is made. Which will be at least another thousand, So please please keep donating. This little lady deserves the very best chance of a happy ever after. As you can see shes getting rather settled in her new abode.

She is currently in foster with the finder and after the 28 days it will be her forever home. She is getting absolute 5 star treatment, which she absolutely deserves.

Thank you all for your support so far its been truly amazing 🧡

Update 18:00 16/05/24

Angels xrays showed multiple possible complications ruling out the option of amoutating her leg, in the opinion of our vets. Not giving up on her we have decided to opt for a referral to Fitzpatricks.

We have today paid the total bill of £1312.81 for her treatment so far. (Invoice added)

Please continue to give generously, we have had a pledge to cover the initial referral to the specialist and she will have further tests including an MRI, but clearly any treatment may result in a huge bill of thousands of pounds.

once we have their expert decision it will be then that we make a decision about her future, but for now we are not giving up on her. We are a tiny charity but simply couldn't say no. She deserves a chance.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A fundraiser to help cover emergency vets costs for an abandoned mature adult chihuahua, we have named Angel because she really is.

She was found in Retford unable to walk on her rear leg. She was covered in urine stains and burns, heavily matted, stank, emaciated with a severe flea allergy. She was taken to our vets today whobsuspect an untreated luxating patella, also with signs of hip problems. She needs x rays and may possibly need her leg amoutating. She has had multiple litters, has no sign of mammary tumours but she does have a hernia. She is not microchipped, with no evidence of chip removal, and she is clearly a long term neglect case We will continue to try to find out who is responsible for this poor little girl.

Warden is aware. Retainer granted and finder will keep after 28 days if no owner comes forward. However we can't make her wait 28 days to get treatment started, so we have paid forbher vets consultation today, her skin has been treated and shes on pain relief. She will be sedated on Thursday for full xrays. Current bill stands at just under £900 ( see attached photos)

If she loses her leg it will cost thousands. With no one to step-up for her, we have said we will.
