Story
This September 12th, 2026, I will be taking on the incredible challenge of Hurly Burly 2026, a 10km cold water swim near Snowdonia — one of the UK’s wildest open water swims. It’s a test of endurance and spirit, surrounded by breathtaking nature and hundreds of fellow swimmers all united by this epic adventure.
Having swam competitively as a child I honestly thought this would be a breeze however it's now become very apparent that the calm conditions of the swimming pool have completely conditioned my brain and anything different sends me into a blind panic! I'm hoping to complete it and will give it all I have but it won't be easy I'm also hoping having David by my side will help me overcome any dramas!
Anyway enough about me this is the really important bit and the real reason for taking on this challenge. Having a disabled child myself I know how limited funding is for youngsters and this event will raise funds for Level Water, a remarkable charity that offers one-to-one swimming lessons for children with disabilities. These lessons are not just about learning to swim; they bring joy, empowerment, and truly change lives. Every £15 raised gives a child the chance to gain this vital skill.
I humbly ask for your support in reaching my target of £250. Your sponsorship will make a real difference in helping these children experience the freedom and confidence that swimming can provide.
