Story
Joe and Liz will be dressing in Santa suits and taking to the streets of London on Wednesday 6 December to help raise money for the National Brain Appeal, the charity and research arm of the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, Queens Square, London.
We are taking part in a 5km 'Santa in the City Run', Liz attempting to run the course while pushing Joe in his wheelchair. 5km does not sound like a huge distance, but it's the first proper run Liz will have done in 10.5 years and the first one pushing Joe in a wheelchair, and in the the dark, and in a Santa suit!
We have a long and ongoing connection with the National - Joe spent 4 months as a neuro rehab inpatient in 2015 following the complex the bleed on his brain, has had 2 brain operations at the National and continues to be monitored and supported to this day by their wonderful outpatient services, helping Joe in his ongoing quest to keep reclaiming more function and independence.
The National Brain Appeal provides critical funding for Neuro research, developing pioneering ways to improve treatment for those with neurological conditions and the associated challenges, which can inflict anyone at any age.
Joe and Liz are proud to support this wonderful charity. If you are able to donate a few ££ we would be hugely grateful. It's a really worthwhile cause, close to our hearts. Thank you for you support x
