I am thrilled to share that I have been selected by the charity, COPS UK (Care of Police Survivors) to represent them in the 2025 London Marathon.

Having applied in October 2024, I received the call in November confirming that out of hundreds of applicants I had been chosen, I was in complete shock.

I remember telling my son, Alfie, that I had an interview as I made it to the final two, and he wished me good luck. When I got the call offering me the position, I couldn't believe it – me! My son gave me a massive hug and said, "Well done, Mom," and I cried with joy.

I plan to start back running after Christmas, as I am currently recovering from an injury sustained during my latest half marathon, but still managing other forms of fitness. I have completed three half marathons, the most recent being the Monsal Trail in October 2024. There is no doubt in my mind that I am ready for this challenge, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity.

Balancing life with two young children and working shifts is no easy feat, but participating in the London Marathon will be an incredible achievement and a dream come true. It is something I have always wanted to do, and I am determined to make my family, friends and colleagues proud. I know that the love and support of my family and friends will undoubtedly help me reach the finish line.
