🌄 Calvert Devon – Where Adventure Has No Limits

Calvert Devon is a registered charity and outdoor activity centre where adventure has no limits. We have been welcoming guests with physical, behavioural, sensory, and learning disabilities since 1996 and are the only centre of this kind in the south of England.

I joined Calvert Devon in April 2024 and have felt immensely proud every day to play a small part in making the outdoors accessible for everyone 🌿. Our inclusive activities give people with disabilities the same opportunities to challenge themselves 💪, build confidence, and create unforgettable memories.

⚠️ Our Fight for Survival

In August 2024, our centre faced its darkest days and came dangerously close to closure. Alongside my colleagues, I worked tirelessly to raise over £500,000 in 3 weeks and keep our doors open. It was a relentless time – exhausting and, at times, heartbreaking – but it showed me just how much our centre means to so many people.

Thanks to overwhelming public support 🙌, we pulled through. Since then, I’ve seen our charity go from strength to strength 📈 – becoming a modern, sustainable organisation with a clear mission. It feels like new life has been breathed into our work, and we are determined to keep building on that momentum.

🏃‍♀️ Why I’m Running

In 2026, I’m honoured to be part of the Calvert Devon London Marathon Team 🏅. London has always been on my bucket list – and as it marks both Calvert’s 30th anniversary 🎂 and my own 30th birthday 🎉, it feels like fate.

It will be my furthest run in almost three years and will take months of training, determination, and probably a lot of snacks 🍫 to get me over the finish line (luckily I work somewhere with a fantastic tuck shop and chocolate selection 😉). I can’t wait to run those iconic streets, soak up the atmosphere, and raise awareness and vital funds for a charity that means the world to me.
