Longest Lake, Highest Peak: Wales and England editions

LOROS Hospice is a local charity delivering free care and support to over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland each year. Our free high-quality, compassionate services are tailored to be special and unique to each terminally ill patient, their family and carers.

Story

This challenge is to raise money for the wonderful LOROS hospice, who provide incredible palliative care to people approaching the end of their life.

Longest Lake, Highest Peak Challenge!

1st June: Llyn Tegid - Wales' longest lake. Rich will swim TWO lengths of the lake (9km). Mel will run a hilly off-road lap of the lake (c.21km).

2nd June: Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) - Wales' highest peak. Mel and Rich will hike to the top of the mountain and back (c. 14km).

31st August: Windemere - England's longest lake. Rich will swim the length of the lake (18km!). Mel will run a hilly winding trail route along the length of the lake (c.42km).

1st September: Scafell Pike - England's highest peak. Mel and Rich will hike to the top of the mountain and back (c.9km).

LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
