In October my family lost a very special person to cancer. Nicky Stewart was an eccentric, happy and deeply loving individual who also battled Crohn’s Disease from the age of 10. In her final weeks, when we spoke about this challenge, she expressed her wish to support this cause.

Over the past year I’ve set myself the goal of completing a new sport every single week this year - 52 sports in total. To mark the end of this journey, I’ve chosen my biggest challenge yet: a 52km ultramarathon, symbolising the 52 weeks of sports I’ve completed.

Currently, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. The real number could be almost double that.
