Story
In March 2025, my brother-in-law, Danny, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) at just 39 years old.
MND is a devastating condition that causes motor neurones to stop working. As the disease progresses, it leads to increasing muscle weakness and paralysis, affecting a person's ability to walk, talk, swallow and, eventually, breathe. There is currently no cure.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) have been an incredible support to Danny, his wife and their two young boys. They have provided home visits, expert advice, essential equipment including wheelchairs and a stairlift, connected them with other sources of support, and helped them navigate the challenges of living with a terminal illness.
We know this level of care is only possible because of the generosity of people who donate and fundraise for the MNDA. Their support has made a real difference to Danny and his young family.
So on 11th October, I'll be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon challenge alongside my sister, Sarah (Danny's wife), and my daughter, Evelyn.
We want to give something back to the MNDA. By raising vital funds and awareness, they can continue supporting families following a diagnosis, while researchers work towards finding a cure.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
