In the May of 2020, I received the devastating news that I had Breast Cancer. It changed my life, as well as those around me. I underwent a full year of treatment, including Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and a Single Mastectomy. Macmillan were a fantastic support to me both during my treatment and in the years to follow! Within the four years since my diagnosis, cancer has continued to dominate within my family, causing much more heartache and has remained a presence within our everyday lives.

By completing this hike, we want to give something back to the amazing people that have helped me and my family, as well as the millions of others on the road to recovery.

I was one of the lucky ones, and not all of us have had the same fortune. However, Macmillan are there for everyone effected by cancer, from the patient to their families, at all stages of the journey.
