Childhood and cancer. Two words that should never go together, yet children are diagnosed with cancer every day. Help build the Childrens Cancer Centre at GOSH and save more lives.

Story

My beautiful daughter, Lucie, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in July 2022, aged 9. Due to the size and location, our only hope was an 18-month long, gruelling chemotherapy protocol with the hope of stabilising growth.

Now 11, Lucie is fast approaching the end of this turbulent journey, during which she lost all of her hair, has had countless blood transfusions and spent weeks admitted to hospital. But, like every hurdle, she has continued fighting strong 💪🏼 with a smile on her face ☺️. We are elated that there has been no tumour growth and it looks as though the chemo has done its job of stopping the nasty cells from multiplying.

Her final round of chemo is planned for March when she will proudly ring the bell. She has been an inspiration to us all and I am honoured to be her mum.

We will forever be in debt to the incredible Great Ormond Street and the everyday miracles they perform. You may be aware that they are building a brand new Children’s Cancer Centre, taking care of precious children facing the toughest of battles.

As such, we are raising money for this cause and every penny counts. If you can help build it, you can help beat it.

Here’s a bit about Great Ormond Street:

Childhood and cancer are two words that should never go together.

But every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. Thats five families who are faced with the worst news possible.

A child doesnt have to die from cancer for it to take their life. It can take away their childhood, their opportunities to learn and even to have children of their own one day.

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers. Pioneering research is underway to find the most effective treatments and cures, which give hope to children and their families.

But these advances have outstripped GOSHs current cancer care facilities, and the hospital needs a new home to create breakthrough therapies which will benefit children all over the world.

Help us build the new Childrens Cancer Centre at GOSH and save more childrens lives.
