Story
We are Lucy and Kevin and we are running the London Marathon 2027 with Moya Cole Hospice in memory of our incredible Mum and wife, Janice Marriott.
Mum was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May 2025 and was admitted to Moya Cole Hospice in March 2026 for 5 weeks. Mum was able to be discharged to spend her last week at home before she sadly passed away on 26th April 2026.
The care that Mum received at the hospice was nothing short of incredible and as a family, we couldn’t be more grateful to every single staff member who cared for Mum during her time there. The support that was given to myself, Dad and my brother Ross meant the world and we will forever be grateful to everyone at the hospice for everything they did for us all.
Because of this, we want to give back to ensure that the hospice can continue to provide incredible care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and support their families and carers across Greater Manchester.
As many people know, Moya Cole Hospice is a lifeline for many, but with only a third of their funding coming from the NHS, they need to raise £20,000 every single day to continue providing their essential services and compassionate care.
Dad and I will be running the London Marathon on the 25th April 2027 which will be the day before Mum’s one year anniversary. This alone will spur us on and we will think of Mum with every step we take. Whilst we enjoy running and have the best memories getting up early for a morning run along the seafront in Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote on holiday each year with Mum, this will be a huge challenge for us both so please support us in our fundraising efforts as we hope to raise lots of money for the hospice in memory of the most wonderful person in our lives. Mum was everything to us and we miss her so very much.
We can’t thank you enough for your support!
Love from Lucy and Kevin x
