Story
This November, I’m taking part in Swimming the Distance to support people affected by lung cancer during Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Over the whole of November I will be swimming a total of 20 miles at my local swimming pool to raise money for a charity close to my family.
1 length is 25m
1 mile is 64 lengths
20 miles is 1280 lengths
In 2024 my Nanna was diagnosed with her second battle of cancer, this time in the lungs. After loosing numerous family members to cancer including my Grandad, it feels more than right to use my passion of swimming to raise money for a charity close to home!
With my Nanna continuing to live with and battle lung cancer I hope to remind her how strong she is. My grandparents mean the world to me and this challenge is just a little way of doing my bit.
Every stroke I swim will help fund vital support services, from nurse helplines to patient information and support groups — things that make a real difference to families facing this disease.
I’d be so grateful if you could support my challenge with a donation, no matter the size. Every pound brings us closer to helping someone living with lung cancer feel less alone, more supported, and cared for.
Thank you for helping me make every stroke count 💙
