Story
My name is Lyla, I’m 17 and will be turning 18 just a few days before the London Marathon. Running the marathon feels like such a special way to celebrate my birthday, but I also wanted to use the opportunity to raise money for someone who means a lot to me — Asger.
.
I have known Asger since he was a baby, so I’ve had the privilege of watching his journey and seeing him grow over the years. I’m also Asger’s babysitter, which has given me an especially close bond with him and his family.
Over the years, I’ve watched Asger develop into the amazing person he is today, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been part of his journey. Raising money for Asger is something that means a lot to me, and I hope that by taking on this challenge, I can make a positive difference and help support him and his future.
Because Asger has cerebral palsy, he needs additional support, equipment and opportunities that can be expensive and often need to be fundraised for. Raising money through the London Marathon will help contribute towards the things Asger needs and support him on his journey.
