The Great British Dog Walk 2024 · 19 May 2024

The Great British Dog Walk is a fun-filled sponsored walk, which takes place in stunning locations across the UK.

Story

I am walking to show deaf people they’re not alone

1 in 5 people in the UK have some form of hearing loss, and this number is rising. It can happen to anyone at any stage of life and affects far more than a person’s ability to hear. Deafness or hearing loss can lead to loneliness, isolation, relationship difficulties, mental health issues and much more.

The clever hearing dogs not only provide vital practical support by alerting to life-saving and important sounds, but also provide loving companionship and connection that transforms lives.

The Great British Dog Walk is about meeting people who also love their dogs, finding out what hearing dogs do and having fun with our furry friends!

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People receives no government funding so any donation, however large or small, goes towards helping deaf people reconnect with life.
