Story
At 22 weeks old we received the devastating news that our daughter Renae had Ewing Sarcoma a rare form of cancer in the soft tissue of her neck.
In total Renae had 2 surgeries along with 14 doses of chemotherapy and 25doses of proton beam therapy. The majority of Renaes care was carried out by the fantastic team on Ward 4 at the Great North Childrens Hospital.
Renae is now nearly 21 months old and is doing amazingly well, being the happy and fun toddler we love so much.
We would like to try to give something back to the hospital and more importantly Ward 4 therefore any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Donations to the Great North Childrens Hospital Foundation support the many children and their families who come to our hospital for treatment and care, making their experience the best it possibly can be.
Innovations that really make a difference to our patients and staff including life changing research, cutting-edge equipment and technology are funded by donations along with initiatives to support the wellbeing and development of our staff.
Evidence shows that children have a quicker recovery when they are in an environment they enjoy and we strive to make GNCH as welcoming and friendly as it can be.
