My running journey started 12 years ago mainly to manage my asthma, but it soon became a lifestyle and a hobby. In May, I will run my 9th half marathon to raise funds for Refugees at Home. A charity I am super proud to be part of within the Placement Team. This one is dedicated to all refugees and asylum seekers and their incredible resilience to thrive.

Refugees At Home was started by a group of volunteers who wanted to help some of the many refugees and asylum seekers in the UK who found themselves destitute and unable to find shelter or accommodation.

Launched in early 2016, Refugees At Home has made over 5,000 placements with hosts who have a spare room and a kind heart. This translates into more than half a million nights not spent on the street or riding the night buses.
