Story
As a team of 9 cyclists and 2 support drivers, we are taking on the infamous Northern "Chase The Sun" event. This is a grueling event on the longest day of the year (21st June), cycling 200 miles from Whitley Bay on the East Coast of England, across to Prestwick on the West Coast of Scotland. The aim..........beat the Sun. Sun rises at 4.27am when we start and we need to be in Prestwick, 200+ miles and approx 3800 metres of hills later, before the sun sets at 10:05pm.
The Squad:
Cyclists: Shaun Spence (M&B), Ian Cutler (M&B), Robert Duff (M&B), Jess Posnett (M&B), Matt Overs (M&B), Tom Holmes (M&B), Craig Humphriss (M&B), Paul Mansfield, Tim Storr.
Support: Darren Read (M&B) and Matt Hawkswood (M&B).
As a team we are supporting the charity "Social Bite" and the movement to end homelessness.
Social Bite are a charity and social business providing homes, jobs, food, and support to empower people experiencing homelessness to transform their own lives.
Social Bite believes everyone deserves a safe place to call home, that a job can be truly transformative for someone who has experienced homelessness, and that food is one of the most powerful tools to help signpost people to access support.
Any donation to support our fundraising would be greatly appreciated.
