Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2022 Mum discovered a lump in her lower leg. After trips to the doctors and Rosemere it was discovered she had a sarcoma. Radiotherapy 5 days a week for 4 weeks and an operation followed, taken in her usual bullish way.

As it was a sarcoma she was referred to Clatterbridge under the care of Dr Olsson-Brown. Chemo followed, but sadly was not effective as the cancer begam terminal and chemo ineffective.

Sadly Mum lost her heroic battle in December 2023 but the care, honesty and dedication from all at Clatterbridge meant so much to her. Even her chat with a volunteer who had lost his wife a few years ago, whilst I had to move the car, stuck in her memory and meant a lot to her.

She wanted to donate to Clatterbridge through her will but I also wanted to give back to this wonderful place, which despite the obvious sadness holds fond memories for me and Mum.

In Mums memory and to raise funds for some amazing charities, i'll be taking on challenge 2026. Six huge challenges in 2026.

March - Angelsey Half Marathon. Mum loved coming to watch me run this event. She loved North Wales and we stayed at Llandudno for the night after for her birthday present. So it had to be included in the events for 2026.

March - Rat Race Arctic Circle. 3 countries and 3 winter sports. 19 miles on bike, 13 miles on skis and 13 on foot. Whilst this distance may not seem much, it will all be on snow and in temperatures down to -20. Chilly!

May - Pendle witches way.

July - Way of the Roses 3 Peaks Duathlon - Cycle 171 miles from Morecambe to Bridlington stopping off to complete the Yorkshire 3 peaks on foot. Oh and did I mention all in under 24 hours. Easy!

October - Llandudno Triathlon. Mum loved Llandudno so this has to be included.
